ABOUT cat brantley:
Hello! Welcome to Mindful Art Creative.
My name is Cat, I am a teaching artist and mindfulness teacher living in Charleston, SC.
I received my bachelor’s degree in Art Education from UGA in 2007, studied and taught art in Cortona, Italy, and have been teaching art to children and adults through private lessons, workshops, and as a resident/visiting artist since 2007. I started Mindful Art Creative to promote the benefits of mindfulness and art making, guide others through healing self-expression, and provide a resource for creative, mindful living.
In my teaching and own healing journey, I use therapeutic art methods to express and move through feelings and to process experiences, blending creativity and artistry into a mindfulness practice. I practice mindfulness as I create art, walk in nature, and throughout my day as a way to build resilience towards stress and live more consciously.
I also teach the basics of drawing, watercolor painting, and indigo dyeing, a few of my favorite mediums, in private lessons and group workshops. I teach in schools as a teaching artist around Charleston through Engaging Creative Minds and the SC Arts Directory, and recently accomplished a life long goal of illustrating a children’s book, Pam Pam’s Journey.
SO why Mindful Art Creative? Mindfulness, art, and creativity can help you:
destress
build resilience towards anxiety
strengthen your ability to solve problems creatively
connect with your intuition
wake up your inner artist
nurture your inner child
I hope we can connect through one of my many offerings. I’m so glad you’re here!
